The Chemical Resistance of Veera Flexible Graphite:

Graphite is one of the most inert natural materials known. It will resist corrosive attack by a wide variety of chemicals, including many acids, bases, solvents, oils, and metals. There are, however, a few exceptions: certain strong oxidizers, such as concentrated nitric or sulfuric acids, choloric acids, permanganates, chromium (VI) solutions, as well as molten alkali and alkaline earth metals should not be used with flexible graphite. For reinforced flexible graphite (laminates), the laminating materials, ie., steels, mylar, aluminum, etc., may not be as resistant as the graphite alone. Also, the performance or suitability of a graphite gasket for a particular application may depend on other factors. These include certain gasket design characteristics, such as surface loads. Pressures and temperatures.

Benefits:

  • Increased reliability and uptime.
  • Reduced inventory costs.
  • Reduced product leakage and contamination, therefore, reducing costly equipment corrosion.
  • Reduced installation time, costs and gasket handling damage.
  • Increased operating efficiency.
  • Reduced maintenance costs because of reduction in retorquing bolts.
Increased maintenance flexibility by allowing in house out gaskets.

Performance of Veera Rings:

  • Excellent Thermal Stability
  • Highly Anisotropic
  • Very Low Thermal Expansion Characteristics
  • Low Electrical Resistivity
  • Low coefficient of Friction
  • High Thermal Conductivity
  • Low Modulus of Elasticity - High Flexible
  • Chemically Resistant
  • Easy Conformability to Surface Irregularities
  • Non-abrasive
  • Low Gas Permeability
  • Nuclear Certifiable/High purity
  • Chemically inert

Why Veera Rings:

There are many convincing reasons for choosing VeeraRings for most demanding gasket application. Perhaps the most important ones come from our customers who have told us:

It is the only known material with...

The desired 40% Compression

20% Recovery

Less than 5% Creep Relaxation
